The features of operation, the main causes of accidents and equipping with technical monitoring equipment in distribution networks of 6–10 kV agricultural regions are analyzed. A method is proposed for monitoring the technical state of electrical networks with isolated neutral on the basis of an automatic data processing system for voltage sensors (voltage telemetry) installed in a distributed system of RC–filters together with surge arresters. Considered are the additional advantages and opportunities that apply the proposed method, as well as the adaptation of the monitoring system to the conditions of the modern information exchange infrastructure of a digital substation in accordance with IEC 61850–9–2
